
Mary Kay Ramirez
Retired Teacher, Principal, and Director of Community Development SFDS 1983-2024
Mary Kay Ramirez was born and raised in Indiana and came to the East Side in August of 1983 to be an art teacher. She attended Purdue University where she earned a B.A. in Education and later an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her career at SFDS spanned 40 years and many roles including Art Club Moderator, Pom Pons Moderator, Varsity Boys Golf Coach, Dean of Students, Parents Club Moderator, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director of Community Relations. She met her husband on the East Side at SFDS and they now spend their retired years together traveling and seeing their five children and 19 grandchildren! She began teaching to “change the world!” but discovered it has changed her! She continues to support the East Side Community by being on the Board of Directors of the East Side Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the East Side Planning Association and the St. Francis de Sales Advisory Board.
