Ms. Bluhm was born in Chicago in the Roseland area. After graduating from St. Francis de Sales High school, she attended Columbia College Chicago, Lewis University, and University of St. Francis pursuing degrees in Journalism, Music, and Education. Ms. Bluhm is currently a mother of five and during her spare time has been a gymnastics coach for 38 years – 9 years at Michigan City High School. She played the organ for eight years at St Willibrord. She is also planning to start a Master Organist Certification program in January through BYU. She was also the Varsity Cheer Coach at Michigan City High School for three years. As a music lover, Ms. Bluhm is the lead singer for several bands.Ms. Bluhm is also a super White Sox fan and favorite show is Criminal Minds – Team Gideon! A fun fact about her is that she is a Beatles fanatic and collects memorabilia and original albums in mono.

Mr. Hodorowicz graduated from Marist High School in 2013 and then in May of 2017 from Illinois State. This is his first year teaching! His favorite things to do are to read, write, play sports, and watch the Chicago White Sox try their best. His favorite movies include A Few Good Men, Blues Brothers, The Departed, Dumb and Dumber, and Grease.
Ms. Landey Marasas
Tenure at SFDS: 2nd Year
Current Position: Science
Total Years Teaching: 13 years
Mrs. Marasas lives in Lansing, Illinois. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education at University of St. Augustine. For eight years, she taught Science and Math at Seton Academy in South Holland. Mrs. Marasas is a proud mom of her 7-month old son, Augustus! Her interests include traveling and playing badminton. She is a fan of magic shows!
Mary Kay Ramirez
Tenure at SFDS: 35 years
Current Position: Director of Community Relations
Total Years Teaching/Other: 25 years teaching + 6 years Principal
Mrs. Ramirez is originally from Merrillville, IN. and attended both Catholic grade school and high school. She received her B.A. in Art Education, M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction, and went through a two year Administrative License Program at Purdue University. Besides teaching, she has held the positions of Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, Art Club Moderator, Parents Club Moderator, Pom Pom Coach and Golf Coach. Mrs. Ramirez seriously loves walks on the beach. She also likes to read, watch movies, play golf, and spend time with family and friends.

Current Position: Athletic Director
Total Years Teaching/Other: 12 years Head Volleyball Coach at SFDS
Mrs. Ramos was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and is an Alum of SFDS class of '78. She is married with two daughters and a grandmother to one. Mrs. Ramos is a big time Chicago sports fan. She also loves spending time with family and friends. Like many other proud SFDS Alumni, she is "known to bleed blue and gold."

Current Position: Science Teacher
A native of Chicago, Ms. Robinson attended both public and Catholic schools in Chicago. In 2013, she completed a teacher certification program to teach science. Previously, she was project manager and noticed that she truly loved training clients and end users on system upgrades. As a result, Ms. Robinson became a teacher. Her years as a teacher have been quite enriching. Recently, she became a vegetarian and enjoys exploring restaurants that serves vegan cuisine.

Current Position: Administrative Secretary
Ms. Rodriguez was born and raised on the East Side of Chicago and attended Sawyer College. To her, family is everything. She loves to spend as much time as possible with both them and her friends. She is a proud soccer mom and if she had it her way she would never miss a game. Ms. Rodriguez enjoys going to concerts, plays, movies, comic shows, and sport events. Whenever she has down time, she likes to be crafty (making fleece blankets, crochet, etc.) and would also snuggle with a good novel.

Current Position at SFDS: Social Studies/ Recruiter/ Associate Dean of Students
Mr. Sanchez is an East Side native. He received his undergrad from Eastern Illinois University and his graduate degree from University of Illinois in Champaign. For six years he was a mental health counselor at Rush University Medical Center. Three interesting facts about Mr. Sanchez are he won a fifth grade basketball championship in 1995, his favorite song is Wonderwall (not to be confused with Ms. Ramirez's favorite song Wonderland , and he is one of the many people who believe Jon Snow is alive.

Ms. Serrano is from East Chicago, Indiana and currently lives in Hammond, Indiana. She received her degree from Calumet College of St. Joseph. Ms. Serrano served as Student Council and Freshman Class Moderator and worked with the Book Club and Newspaper. She loves reading, traveling, and photography. Her favorite TV shows are The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and American Horror Story. Ms. Serrano is also a White Sox and Blackhawks fan.

Mr. Strus grew up on the East Side of Chicago just blocks away from SFDS and attended Northern Illinois University. In addition to teaching at SFDS, he has coached girls basketball and softball. He has also been a member of the discipline board and assisted in the Athletic Department. Mr. Strus is a Blackhawks and Cubs fan and he is also married with two children. He loves to travel and play golf.

Current Position at SFDS: Spanish Teacher
Total Years Teaching/Other: 3 years
Ms. Tapi is from the beautiful country of Honduras in Central America. She has a Major in Spanish Literature and a Minor in Linguistics from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. After teaching Spanish for three years in a military high school, Ms. Tapi moved to the United States and has been here for two years. She also has experience in teaching English as a second language and has written short stories regarding the social reality of Honduras. In addition, Ms. Tapi has also written academic researches and essays about Literature from Honduras, Central America and Latin America. She has interests in all type of arts: painting, theater, music, dance, etc. She also enjoys interacting with different cultural groups, since it is a very enriching and learning experience. Ms. Tapi is also a big sports fan enjoying sports in all forms, however, her favorites are soccer, mixed martial arts and yoga. As a child, Ms. Tapi recalls sitting next to a fireplace, reading The Wanderer, from Khalil Gibran; it was then that she knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Joshua Benn Warner
Tenure at SFDS: 4 years
Current Position: Theology
Total Years Teaching/Other: 2 years teaching, 1 year as youth minister, and 7 years as a Trappist Mark
Mr. Warner is from South Bend, IN. He attended University of Notre Dame and studied Theology and Catholic Social Teaching. Mr. Warner worked one year as a Catholic Worker and one year as a youth minister before joining the monastery for seven years. Recently, he taught Theology at Loyola for two years. He enjoys creative writing and poetry.
