WYSE

World Youth in Science and Engineering is a national program that offers competition in the seven subject areas: biology, chemistry, computer fundamentals, English, engineering graphics, mathematics, and physics. The competition provides a challenging multiple choice achievement test for the best and brightest students in those subject areas, as well as an opportunity for St. Francis de Sales to win team trophies. Competitions offered on the District level first, with the best two teams advancing to the Regional level. The best two teams on this level ultimately qualify for the State Championship held at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Beyond the State level is the National Championship competition which is held at a different site each year.
