Counseling & Guidance
|
Welcome to the St. Francis de Sales Guidance Department! The objective of the Guidance Department is to assist students to make decisions and accept responsibility for such decisions; learn to solve their own problems; develop positive attitudes, values and work habits; acquire an understanding of the world of work; increase their human relation skills; and learn to make adjustments to the demands and responsibilities associated with family, school and community membership. This objective is met through individual and group sessions, classroom visits, mediations and if needed referrals to outside agencies. Students are encouraged to set up appointments to talk to their counselor or visit their counselor before or after the school day, or during their study period. The services of the Guidance Department are also available to parents. Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s counselor with any academic, personal or family questions or concerns. |
