Admissions Policy
The admission of a freshman student
to St. Francis de Sales High School is determined after the consideration
of the following criteria:
- The student must take the Placement examination given at St. Francis
de Sales in January, prior to graduation (or a make-up exam if
the original exam was missed).
- The student must be a graduate of an accredited elementary or junior high school.
- The student must appear with his/her parents at an orientation/registration
session at the appropriate time.
- The student must have a Graduate Summary Report sent to St. Francis
de Sales High School from his/her school of graduation.
- The Student's family must not have a history of financial irresponsibility
to St. Francis de Sales.
Freshmen are placed in a curriculum appropriate for their skills and
potential, as a
result of the Placement Exam, as well as a review of
their seventh
and eighth grade records and standardized test results supplied by
their grammar
schools. Placement in a curriculum level can be changed relative to
each student’s
performance on a semester by semester basis. Scholarships are awarded
based
upon the January placement exam. |
