School Philosophy
St. Francis de Sales
High School is committed to the education
of young men and women in
a Christian atmosphere as part of the
mission of the Catholic Church in
the Archdiocese of Chicago.
The spiritual, intellectual,
social and physical development
of each student is the primary purpose
of the educational processes at St.
Francis de Sales. We believe in the right of every qualified
student to have an education at St. Francis de Sales.
Therefore, we strive to
develop a curriculum which allows for
the acceptance of students with diverse intellectual, economic,
cultural and religious backgrounds.
By enrolling at St. Francis de Sales, parents
and students accept
the philosophy and mission of this school. Therefore, all students,
whether Catholic or non-Catholic are expected to participate
in Liturgies, Theology classes, retreat programs and
other spiritual opportunities provided during the school year.
On our part, the faculty and administration
of St. Francis de
Sales High School will be sensitive and respectful of various
faiths of individual students.
There has never been a more difficult time
to be a teenager—
or to be a parent of a teenager. Today’s teens are faced
with
enormous pressures and a variety of tough choices. At St.
Francis de Sales, parents and teachers can work together to
provide young people with the guidance and values needed to
make a smooth transition to adulthood. |
